Good afternoon 2 FI parents,
JUNE UPDATE: I hope you all had a great week. I will be sending home the June calendar Monday, but I wanted to provide you with a digital copy as soon as possible. We have a jam-packed June planned for the class. It has been a difficult year, but the students have thrived despite the bumps (or potholes) along the way. I have attached the digital calendar in a monthly form, and I have provided a little more detail in the grid below. The only thing I need from parents is a white (or light colored) pillowcase for tie dying. Everything else will be provided by the school. Please don't feel overwhelmed by the calendar. HAMSTER, MAZE: We have also started our Hamster Mazes! They are a huge success; I will be uploading more photos on the website. We are still looking for materials. The students have blown through what has already been donated. If you have any boxes laying around your house, please send them in. JUMP ROPE FUNDRAISER: These forms will be going home with the homework on Monday. Please do not feel obligated. I understand the Dance-A-Thon was only last week, which was a massive success. Here is the breakdown! June 4th We will be joining thousands of New Brunswickers as they walk and roll for 15 minutes to show support for persons with disabilities! Schools, organizations and businesses in New Brunswick are encouraged to take part in their own Walk & Roll. We will be leaving the school after lunch. I encourage students to wear orange in support of Disability Awareness Week. We also have some smaller activities planned throughout the week. June 9th Student Appreciation Day and Pyjama Day. Student appreciation day is being planned by administration and the district. June 11th I will be hosting a party for all the students who will be having a birthday during the summer months. The party will take place in the afternoon and will include store purchased cupcakes. Fancy Day: Dress in your favorite fancy clothing. June 14th Photo Booth: The grade two team will be setting up a photo booth with props. Students will be able to take funny pictures with their class. The pictures will be printed and sent home as a keepsake. June 15th Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt: We are lucky to have a lot of outdoor space. We will be exploring the trails around the school, picking out items on our clipboards. June 16th Show and Tell: Please bring in a small item that you can describe to the class. 😊 June 17th Pumpkin Patch: We will be leaving the school at 12:05pm. Students have already selected their ice cream flavors. This is at no cost to parents. Please do not send in any money. Stuffie Day: Bring in your cuddly buddy to school. June 18th Movie Morning: We will be recreating a Movie Theater in our gymnasium. There will be some SMART popcorn. 😊 June 21th FUN DAY: Bouncy castles and relay races on the felid. PIZZA PARTY in the afternoon. (Please do not send a lunch, unless your child does not want pizza) June 22nd Tie Dye Pillowcases: We will be tie dying pillowcases. Could you please send in a white or light-colored pillowcase! Everything else will be provided. June 23rd BINGO game day! We will be playing BINGO with all the grade two classes, social distance style. T-Shirts: We have purchased a special grade 2 t-shirt for each student. They will get to sign t-shirts during the afternoon. June 24th Please wear your t-shirt!!! We will be eating our lunch outside with all the grade twos. After lunch we will be enjoying some freezes.

I apologize, we are still creating the June calendar. It is jammed packed with activities. I am just waiting for final approval. The last two weeks will include a fun activity each day (tie dye pillow cases, outdoor picnic, Nature walk, stuffie day, etc). I will have a detailed list and calendar ASAP.
-June 4: Wear Orange for Disability Awareness Week. We will be walking for 20 minutes in the afternoon. Wear your brightest orange in support of DAW. -June 18: Last day for homework. -June 25: last day for students, (full day) -June 17 at 12:05pm. We will be walking to the Pumpkin Patch for an end of year celebration. We ask that parents do not join, as we will be in our classroom bubble.
-Dance-A-Thon: Info in homework bag with pledge sheet. -New Math Game: Zorbit’s Math Adventure (info in bag). Includes codes and passwords. Homework Changes:
- This week is the last week for new high frequency words. We have covered all the grade 2 words. Next week, I will include some grade 2 words that were difficult. I will be practicing them in class. They will not be assessed. - Math sheets are done for the year! Yay! They were replaced with a calendar. The calendar has one review question for each day of the week. I understand as the weather becomes warmer and activities start again, students are spending less time at home. I would like to thank Cassandra Ackerson (SD, DS) for joining us today and reminding us about personal safety. Thank you! We are going to start a new project. We are going to make a obstacle course for Caramel. The students have been researching and watching some examples. If you have some items laying around your house like toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes, bottles, cardboard we can paint, etc, please sent it our way.
Parent/teacher is coming up. It is this Tuesday and Wednesday (no school for students Wednesday). I will send reminders in the homework bags Monday. It is a beautiful day, get out and enjoy it!!! :) Andrea Hello,
I am going to keep the same high frequency words and math homework for this week and next week. With both weeks only being 4 days, I wanted to give enough time for students to work with the words and feel comfortable. We are also ahead of schedule in relation to the high frequency words. We will start review in 3 weeks time. Andrea Hello,
I will be hosting a pizza party on Thursday April 1st. The students have been working very hard and deserve to be rewarded. They have been speaking French inside and outside the classroom and have been pushing through the curriculum. I will be ordering from Papa Johns. The pizza is whole wheat and will follow the school nutritional guidelines. If you or your child does not want to participate, please let me know. No need to send a lunch Thursday April 1st! Also this is not an April fools joke :) Andrea CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH
